GETTING READY TO LAUNCH...
BHS High Altitude Balloon 2022
The BHS High Altitude Balloon project started with Miramichi Valley High School students and continues with students in the BHS ICE Centre. We have also received support from the Strato-Fredericton team, who recently successfully launched a HAB in 2021. The goal of this project is to capture some amazing video using the equipment from our MakerSpace along with recording data with the Brilliant Labs b.Board technology.
Our payload will include the following equipment...
- GoPro Hero Session with a custom 3D printed sign to capture horizontal view.
- GoPro Hero 3 Black with altimeter to capture top vertical view.
- 360Fly to capture a panoramic view from the bottom of the payload.
- SPOT GPS technology will record the path of the flight and pinpoint recovery.
- Brilliant Lab b.Board and sensory attachments to record flight data.
- Battery charger to ensure that all video footage is successful.
- A wired sounding device to assist in the recovery.

Students in grades 6 & 7 will be doing the PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs Program.
Students in grade 8 will be working with Brilliant Labs BBoard Technology and extensions to PowerPlay Program.
Coop (MAKE) 120 (1st Semester)...
Students will be doing project based learning while transforming the look the of our MakerSpace.
Entrepreneaurship 110 (2nd Semester)...
Students use the MakerSpace to create a prototype and develop a business plan to make a successful venture.
Students in grades 6 & 7 will be doing the PowerPlay Young Entrepreneurs Program.
Students in grade 8 will be working with Brilliant Labs BBoard Technology and extensions to PowerPlay Program.
